Public Transport
Train to Peak District (
Derbyshire Wayfarer)

You can buy a Derbyshire Wayfarer ticket at Burton train station, then catch a Derby-bound train. Alight in Derby, then connect with a train bound for the Peak District. Your Wayfarer ticket is also good on most buses, and it entitles you to discounts at a number of Peak District attractions. (Nb: You can also buy your Derbyshire Wayfarer ticket on the day of travel from Arriva and Trent Barton bus drivers.)

Public Transport
Bus
to Peak District (Trent Barton ZigZag Pass)

You can buy a ZigZag pass from a Trent Barton bus driver at the X38 bus stop in Burton, which is right outside Primark’s (almost directly across from the Market Square).
-- Nb: Arriva bus drivers don’t sell ZigZag passes but they do honour them (they're supposed to, anyway, last I was told).
-- Take the X38 bus to Derby, then walk to Derby Bus Station and connect there with buses to Peak District locations, and buses to Nottingham.
